Activity Feed
A per-project audit trail of edits, member changes, and version snapshots
The Activity Feed is a project's history: who added or changed what, when members joined or changed role, and when version snapshots were taken. It lives on the project's 'Activity' tab, shows the most recent events newest-first, and lets you filter by person, action, or date. It's a read-only record for accountability — distinct from notifications, which tell you about things addressed to you.
Where it lives and what it covers
The feed is scoped to one project at a time. Open a project and select the 'Activity' tab to see its recent history.
- It's per-project — switching projects shows that project's activity, not a combined view.
- Events are listed newest-first; 'Load older' pages back through the history.
- The feed keeps roughly the last 90 days; older entries are cleared.
- An empty feed simply means nothing has been logged yet for this project.
Tips
- Use it to answer 'who changed this, and when?' without interrupting anyone.
What gets logged
The feed records the meaningful changes to a project, grouped into a few families.
- Items — added, edited, or deleted line items.
- Categories — added, renamed, or deleted.
- Members — added or removed, and role changes.
- Project — edits to project fields and metadata, including a contract being signed and a call sheet being published.
- Versions — automatic snapshots as the project is saved.
- Banking, invoice, quote and Mahnung actions are logged privately for you (the GoBD audit trail), so they do not appear in a project's feed. You find them under Accounting → Activity log, which only you can see. There you can filter them by action, narrow them to banking with the Banking chip, and limit them to a date range.
Tips
- Each entry shows who did it, what was affected, and when.
- Only real edits are logged. Opening or reloading a shared project pulls in the other members' work, but that is not an edit by you — it never appears in the feed under your name.
Filtering the feed
When a project has a lot of history, narrow it down. Filters combine, so you can answer very specific questions.
- Pick one or more people to see only their actions.
- Choose a specific action type from the action filter.
- Set a 'From' and 'To' date to bound the range.
- Use 'Clear filters' to return to the full feed.
Tips
- Selecting several people shows actions by any of them.
- If you set a 'From' date later than the 'To' date, an inline message flags it.
Seeing what changed
Expand an entry to see the detail behind it — for an edit, the before-and-after values; for an addition or deletion, what was added or removed.
- Click 'Show changes' on an entry to reveal its change details; 'Hide changes' folds them away again.
- Edits show the old value next to the new one.
- Sensitive details are masked for members who don't have the role to see them.
Live updates, retention, and notifications
With the tab open, new activity appears on its own as collaborators work. The feed is a history, not a messaging system — that's what notifications are for.
- While the Activity tab is open, new events arrive within a second or two without a manual refresh.
- History is retained for about 90 days; older entries can't be recovered.
- The Activity Feed answers 'what happened on this project'; the notification centre tells you about things directed at you.
- Entries are a permanent record — they aren't edited or deleted after the fact.
Tips
- Keep the tab open during a collaborative editing session to watch changes land in real time.
Think of the Activity Feed as the project's logbook: a calm, factual record of every change and who made it. When something looks different and you want to know why, it's the first place to look.
