About Crop PDF

Trims the visible area of pages by adjusting margins or dragging a crop box. Cropping changes what is displayed and printed without deleting the underlying content, so the operation is reversible by re-cropping outward.

Crop boxes are written locally. Note that because cropped content remains in the file, a cropped document shared onward still contains what you hid — the privacy caveat matters more here than the network one.

How to use Crop PDF

  1. Load the PDF.
  2. Drag the crop handles on the preview, or enter exact margins in millimetres or points.
  3. Choose whether to apply the crop to every page or only the current one.
  4. Apply and download.

On a production

Scans arrive with black borders from the platen lid. Exported plans carry a title block you do not want on every printed sheet. Cropping produces a document that prints edge to edge with what actually matters on it.

Frequently asked questions

Is the cropped-away content really gone?
No — cropping sets the visible box, and the content outside it remains in the file. That means the crop is reversible, but also that cropping is not redaction. To remove sensitive content permanently, redact it in the PDF editor.
Can different pages have different crops?
Yes. Apply per page when pages differ, which is common in scanned documents where the feed drifted. For a uniform document, applying to all pages is faster and more consistent.
Does cropping reduce the file size?
Barely, since the content is retained. If size is the objective, crop and then compress, or export the pages as images at the cropped dimensions.
