About Divide Pages

Cuts each page into sections — halves, quarters, or an arbitrary grid — turning every source page into several output pages. The opposite operation to N-Up.

Division is computed locally from the page geometry; the document is not uploaded to be re-imposed.

How to use Divide Pages

  1. Load the PDF.
  2. Choose the division — two horizontally for a book spread, or an arbitrary grid for a contact sheet.
  3. Check the preview to confirm the cut lines fall in the gutter and not through content.
  4. Divide and download.

On a production

A scanned A3 spread comes in as one wide page when it should be two A4 pages. A contact sheet needs its frames separated. Both are the same operation: one physical page holding several logical ones.

Frequently asked questions

What order do the divided pages come out in?
Reading order — left to right, then top to bottom — so a two-up spread produces the left page followed by the right page, which is what a scanned book needs.
The cut goes through my content — can I adjust it?
Yes, the division point is adjustable rather than fixed at the exact centre. Scanned spreads are rarely centred perfectly, so expect to nudge it.
Is content outside the cut discarded?
Each output page shows its section of the source. Nothing is lost overall — every part of the original page appears in one of the outputs.
