About Form Filler
Form Filler completes the interactive fields already present in a PDF — text boxes, checkboxes, radio groups and dropdowns — including older XFA forms. Entries can be saved and reloaded, and the finished form can be flattened so the values become permanent page content.
Field values live in your browser and, if you choose to save them, in local storage on this device. They are never submitted anywhere.
How to use Form Filler
- Open a PDF that contains form fields. Filled values already in the file are loaded and shown.
- Complete the fields. Tab moves between them in the order the form itself defines.
- Save your entries if the same form will be reused, so they can be reloaded next time.
- Flatten before sending if the values must not be editable by the recipient, then download.
On a production
An ATA carnet for a camera package abroad is the same twelve fields every trip, with only the dates and the destination changing. Filling it as a form and saving the entries means the next journey starts from last journey's document instead of a blank one.
Frequently asked questions
- What does flattening actually do?
- It converts the field values into ordinary page content and removes the interactive fields. The document then looks identical but nobody downstream can alter or clear what you entered.
- My PDF has boxes drawn on it but I cannot type in them. Why?
- Drawn rectangles are not form fields. The document needs real fields defined in it, which is what the Form Creator tool adds — this tool only fills fields that already exist.
- Are XFA forms supported?
- Yes, which matters because a number of official and customs documents still use them. They are handled alongside standard AcroForm fields with no separate step on your part.
