About Header Footer
Stamps custom header and footer text onto every page — left, centre and right slots in each band, with independent alignment, font size and colour. Text can include the page number and the current date as tokens rather than fixed strings.
Header and footer text is composited into the pages on your machine. The text you stamp — often a confidentiality marker — is never transmitted.
How to use Header Footer
- Load the PDF.
- Fill the header and footer slots you want. Empty slots are simply not drawn.
- Set size, colour and distance from the page edge.
- Apply to all pages and download.
On a production
Distribution control lives in the header. 'DRAFT — NOT FOR CIRCULATION', a version marker, a unit name, the date a schedule was locked. When a printed page ends up on the wrong truck, the header is what tells someone it is the wrong version.
Frequently asked questions
- Can the header show the page number automatically?
- Yes, via the page-number token, which resolves per page. For numbering with more control over format and start value, use the dedicated Page Numbers tool instead.
- Can I apply a header to only part of the document?
- Not in one pass. Split the document, stamp the section that needs it, then merge the pieces back together — three quick steps that give exact control.
- Will this overwrite an existing header?
- No, it draws on top. If the original already has a header in the same position the two will overlap, so either choose a different slot or crop the original band first.
