About Invert Colors

Inverts every colour in the document, turning white pages black and black text white. Applies to text, vector graphics and embedded images alike.

The colour transform is applied to the page content in your browser; the document is never uploaded.

How to use Invert Colors

  1. Load the document.
  2. Invert.
  3. Check the preview — pages that were mostly photographic look strange inverted and may be better left alone.
  4. Download the dark version.

On a production

Reading a script or a schedule on a laptop in a blacked-out studio or a night exterior. A white page is a lighting problem — it spills, it wrecks your night vision, and on a monitor near camera it can end up in the shot.

Frequently asked questions

Will photographs look wrong?
Yes, inverted photographs look like negatives. This works best on text documents. For a mixed document, consider whether a greyscale conversion or simply lowering screen brightness serves better.
Should I print this?
Almost certainly not — a black page uses an enormous amount of toner and dries slowly. This is for screen reading.
Can I invert only some pages?
Not in one pass. Split out the pages you want inverted, invert them, and merge back — which also lets you leave photographic pages untouched.
