About JSON To PDF
Renders JSON data as a readable PDF, preserving the nesting with indentation and syntax highlighting rather than dumping it as one unbroken line. Malformed JSON is reported with the position of the problem.
JSON exports often carry tokens, identifiers and internal endpoints. Parsing and rendering happen locally, so none of it is transmitted.
How to use JSON To PDF
- Load the JSON file, or paste the data directly.
- Set the indent width — two spaces stays compact, four is easier to follow for deep structures.
- Choose page size; landscape suits data with long string values.
- Convert and download.
On a production
Configuration exports, API responses and device data need to be attached to a ticket or an email in a form a non-technical reader can look at. A JSON file attachment gets opened in a text editor and closed again; a formatted PDF gets read.
Frequently asked questions
- What happens with invalid JSON?
- The tool reports the parse error and the character position rather than producing a half-rendered document. Fixing the source is usually a matter of a trailing comma or an unquoted key.
- How are very deep structures handled?
- Indentation continues, but past six or seven levels the right-hand side runs out of page. Landscape orientation and a two-space indent buys several more levels.
- Is the key order preserved?
- Yes, keys are rendered in the order they appear in the source file rather than sorted, so the output can be compared line by line against the original.
