How to use Page Dimensions
- Load the PDF.
- Read the per-page table of dimensions, orientation and detected standard format.
- Look at the summary for pages that deviate from the document's dominant size.
- Fix what you found with Fix Page Size or Rotate PDF.
On a production
A print job comes back wrong and nobody knows why. Usually the answer is that page 14 is Letter in an otherwise A4 document, or three pages are rotated. This tool surfaces that in seconds instead of by inspection.
Frequently asked questions
- Why does my document have mixed page sizes?
- Almost always because it was merged from sources with different regional defaults — A4 in Europe, Letter in North America. The two are close enough that nobody notices until it prints.
- What is the difference between MediaBox and CropBox?
- MediaBox is the full physical page; CropBox is the visible region. A cropped document has a smaller CropBox, and printers usually honour CropBox — which is why a cropped page prints smaller than its MediaBox suggests.
- The page says landscape but displays portrait — why?
- The rotation entry is applied on top of the dimensions. A portrait page with 90 degrees of rotation displays as landscape while still measuring portrait, which the table shows as separate columns for exactly this reason.
