PDF to TIFF renders pages as TIFF images, either one file per page or a single multi-page TIFF. Compression can be selected, and the DPI setting controls the rendering resolution rather than resampling an already-rendered image.

- Follow the recipient's specification, which usually states it. Multi-page keeps a document together as one object; separate files are easier to inspect and to replace individually.
- Which compression should I choose?
- LZW and similar lossless schemes reduce size without touching image data. Avoid lossy compression for anything archival — the point of choosing TIFF is usually to avoid exactly that.
- Does the DPI setting resample the output?
- No. The page is rendered from its vector description at the resolution you set, so a higher DPI produces genuinely more detail rather than an enlarged version of a smaller render.
