Why did some text not change colour?

Two reasons. Text that is part of an image has no glyphs to address, and OCR does not help because it adds an invisible layer, not visible type. And text whose colour the file sets explicitly keeps that colour: the tool changes only the default each page starts with.

Can I change the colour of just one paragraph?

No. The colour applies to every page of the document, and there is no way to pick a page range or a passage. For emphasis on a single paragraph, a desktop PDF editor is the right tool.

Does this affect the background?

No. Only glyph fill colour is rewritten. If you need to change what sits behind the type, that is a different operation and has its own tool.

About Text Color

Text Colour sets one colour for the text on every page of a PDF. Characters, fonts and positions are left alone. It changes text drawn in the default colour; text whose colour the file already fixes keeps it.

The new colour is written into the document held in your browser. The text content itself is never read out, extracted or sent anywhere.

How to use Text Color

Open the PDF.
Pick the colour: use the colour picker, type a hex value, or choose one of the six presets — Black, Navy, Dark Red, Dark Green, Slate or Purple.
Apply. The colour goes on every page; there is no selection of pages or passages.
Download and check the result. Text that is part of an image, and text whose colour the file fixes, stays as it was.

On a production

A revision set is easier to handle when every page announces which version it is. Printing the pages of a revised schedule in dark red, or a client document in their navy, marks the whole copy before anyone has read a word of it.
