German Pages (/de/…)

Cine Power Planner is available in English and German. Since v0.671.0 the German version also has its own web addresses, so search engines can find and rank it.

What changed

BeforeNow
German web addressnone — German existed only as a setting in your browsercine-power-planner.com/de/…
Findable on Google in Germannoyes
English addressescine-power-planner.com/…unchanged

Every public page now has a German twin at the same path with /de in front:

EnglishGerman
cine-power-planner.com/cine-power-planner.com/de
cine-power-planner.com/landingcine-power-planner.com/de/landing
cine-power-planner.com/tools/power-calculatorcine-power-planner.com/de/tools/power-calculator
cine-power-planner.com/pdf-tools/merge-pdfcine-power-planner.com/de/pdf-tools/merge-pdf

Page addresses stay in English (/de/tools/power-calculator, not /de/werkzeuge/…) — the content is what search engines rank, and keeping one set of paths means a link never breaks when you switch language.

What this means for you

Nothing changes about how you use the app. Your language setting still lives in Settings → General → Appearance → Language, still applies everywhere, and is still remembered.

A few specifics worth knowing:

  • Opening a /de/… link shows you German, even if your setting is English. Your saved setting is not changed — leave the page and everything is as you left it.
  • Sharing a German page shares the German address. Switch the language on the landing page and the address bar follows, so the link you copy is the one your colleague will read in German.
  • Switching language in Settings is unchanged — instant, no page reload, address bar untouched.
  • Your projects, settings and account pages are not published in either language. They stay private and are excluded from search engines under /de/ exactly as they are without it.
  • On iPhone, iPad and Android the app is unaffected — there are no web addresses inside the app, so language remains a pure setting.

For anyone checking the SEO side

  • Each page declares its own address as canonical in its own language — the German page points at the German URL, never the English one.
  • Each page carries hreflang links to every language version plus x-default (English), and the same set appears in sitemap.xml under the xhtml namespace.
  • Un-prefixed addresses stay English for search engines. There is deliberately no automatic redirect based on browser language: it would stop crawlers from ever seeing the other version.
  • robots.txt mirrors every private-area rule under /de/.

After a deploy that changes these pages, resubmit sitemap.xml in Search Console. Indexing the German cluster takes days, not minutes.
