Cine Power Planner provides powerful tools for labeling your physical inventory and tracking the condition of your gear over time.
Gear Labels (Avery Labels)
Print professional labels directly onto physical Avery-compatible sticker sheets to label cases and gear.
How to generate Labels:
- From a project's Rental tab, click Print Gear Labels in the header — the fastest route on a prep day. Items marked as Case / Container in the device library are pre-selected, and a "Cases only" filter narrows the picker to just your cases.
- From the Owned Gear page, click the
Print Labelsaction button at the top header. - From a Project Workspace, click
Export PDF->Print Labels. - In the Label Preview Modal, select the items you want to print labels for. Lenses and monitors will print individually, while other items will group by Category.
Select Allrespects the active filter. - Proceed to the next step to select your Avery Template (e.g., L7160).
- Customize the text on the labels (Production Name, Camera Letter, Phone Number, Owner Name).
- Adjust the Start Position if you are printing on a partially used Avery sticker sheet.
- Click Print Labels to open the browser print dialog. Ensure "Scale" is set to "Default" or "100%" to guarantee alignment with the Avery sheet perforations!

This tool tracks physical wear and damage using visual diagrams.
Which gear gets a scratch sheet
Condition tracking is not limited to lenses and monitors. It is available on every owned-gear category. What changes from one to the next is whether the item gets a diagram to mark, or only a checklist and written notes:

Two separate things are being decided there, and they are worth keeping apart.
Whether the item is audited at all. Lenses, filters, camera bodies, drones and drone controllers are audited by default. Every other family — monitors, viewfinders, director's monitors, gimbals, FIZ units, and everything further down the list — is opt-in per item: switch Condition on for that piece of gear and it starts auditing.
Whether it gets a drawing. The families with surfaces draw a diagram you can drop markers on. The ones marked none run the same checklist, notes and signatures, and record damage as WHERE / WHAT rows instead — a gimbal has no honest outline to point at, so the app does not invent one.
Those surfaces are only the defaults, and they are resolved from the catalog device the owned-gear item is linked to — not from anything you type on the item itself.
- A catalog entry can override the set for every unit of that model. A camera body with a built-in LCD, for example, adds the screen beside the sensor.
- A single owned-gear item can override it again, for that one unit only. The override list is
wider than the defaults:
mount,eyepieceandjoystickare recognised surfaces you can add by hand — they are simply not what any family draws on its own.
An item in any other category — cases, cables, batteries, grip, media, lights — is not shut out of Condition. It has no drawable geometry, so no diagram appears and it is skipped wherever a scratch sheet needs a drawing: the bulk download, the sheet appended to a PDF, and Print Blank Sheet. Switch Condition on and it still runs a full checklist and takes notes and signatures like anything else.
How to use Digital Check-In:
- Open an item that supports condition tracking from the Owned Gear page. If it does, a Condition section appears in the edit modal with Digital Check-In, and Print Blank Sheet beside it wherever the item has a diagram to print.
- In the "Condition" section, click Digital Check-In.
- Interactive Diagram: Tap or click anywhere on the item's diagram to drop a numbered marker. The diagram matches the item — a lens draws front and rear, a filter draws its glass at the format you set (with the turning disc drawn in, if it is a rotating VND or pola), a camera body draws its sensor at the body's real aspect, and a monitor draws the screen at the panel's real aspect. Gear with no honest drawing (a body rig, a light, a flight case) records damage as WHERE / WHAT rows plus a note instead.
- Notes Sidebar: Describe the scratch, dent, or dust corresponding to each marker.
- Signatures: Have the 1st AC and Rental Manager sign off directly in the application using the Signature Pad.
- Optical Merging: Have a physically scanned sheet instead? Use the Upload Scan button in the sidebar to overlay a scan of a signed paper document over the digital timeline. Use the 4 corner handles to align it correctly.
- Click Save Changes to store the check-in to your inventory.
- If the item goes through maintenance or is restored to perfect condition, click Archive & Reset within the check-in modal to save the existing snapshot to history and clear the diagram for the next rental cycle.
Filter formats and monitor aspects (v0.730.0)
The shape list under Condition → What does this audit draw? carries every format the two optical families actually come in. Pick the one the item really is: the drawing is what a technician points at, and the wrong outline puts a mark on a part the item does not have.
Filters. Plain glass comes in 4×4", 4×5.65", 5.65×5.65", 6×6", Round (screw-in) and
Round drop-in (Ø138 mm) — the drop-in is the big tray filter with no thread, and it is listed apart
from the screw-in for that reason. Each tray size and the screw-in also has a rotating twin
(— rotating (VND / pola)), for a Tilta Mirage, an ARRI Rota Pol, a rotating variable ND or a
screw-in CPL. A rotating filter draws as the frame with its turning disc inside it and an index mark
at 12 o'clock, so a chip in the frame and a scratch on the glass land on different parts of the
drawing — and the index mark gives a filter that has no top a top to orient the sheet by.
Monitors. Pick the panel's real aspect: 16:9, 16:10, 17:9 DCI, 3:2, 4:3 or
21:9 ultrawide. A mark placed two thirds of the way across a 16:9 rectangle is not two thirds of
the way across an ultrawide screen, and the printed sheet draws the same panel the app does. A camera
body's own flip-out screen stays 16:9 — that setting describes the display, not the body's imager.
Monitors configured before this existed keep the 16:9 shape they had, in exactly the place they had it: every mark already recorded stays where it was drawn, on screen and on paper.
Drones: the airframe, not the sensor (v0.733.0)
A drone used to be audited as a camera body — it opened on a 3:2 sensor rectangle and asked about a mount flange and an hour meter. A drone does have a sensor, and it is the part that comes back undamaged: what a drone breaks is props, arm hinges, the gimbal ribbon and the legs.
Drones now have their own family. The diagram is the airframe seen from above, nose pointing up, with the rotors where they physically are — so a mark lands on the part you are holding.

The heavy-lift distinction is not cosmetic: its camera is a separate item with its own audit, so the sheet marks the payload mount. Filing gimbal damage against an Alta X would record it against gear the drone does not own.
Each drone in the device library opens on the right airframe without anyone choosing, and your own choice in the gear detail modal always wins. A drone the library does not recognise opens on the plain quad rather than guessing.
The checks changed with the drawing: chipped or mispaired props, motor bearings, arm hinges and folding locks, gimbal travel and its ribbon, the obstacle-avoidance and downward-vision lenses, shell and antennae, battery-bay contacts, and a compass/IMU calibration with the flight hours noted.
Drones stay audited by default, as they were when they were filed as camera bodies.
Controllers: the screen, and only the screen (v0.734.0)
A pilot's controller shared the drone's category, so an RC opened its sheet on a quadcopter — and before that, on a camera sensor. Neither is the thing in the technician's hands. Worse, seven of the twelve controllers in the library were not recognised at all: their names carry no word the app knew, so they got no diagram, no checklist and no warning that anything was missing.
Controllers now have their own family. The diagram is the controller's screen — a rectangle at the panel's real aspect, so "crack in the lower-right corner" is a statement about a place. Screens come in three shapes because that is what the hardware really has: 16:9 (DJI RC Pro, RC 2), 16:10 (RC Plus) and 4:3 (Autel Smart Controller V3).
Nothing else about a controller is drawn, on purpose. A stick has no inside to point at, there are two identical ones, and no drawing tells them apart without inventing a shape nobody would recognise — and the same is true of the antenna hinges and the phone clamp. Those are checks instead: stick centring and drift, the screen, antennae and their hinges, the device clamp, buttons and wheels, the battery and charge port, whether it still pairs and holds the link, and the shell.
A controller with no screen of its own draws nothing and still runs the whole checklist. An RC-N1 or an Inspire 2 remote clamps your phone; the phone is not the rental house's gear, and a sheet showing a display on a radio that has none is worse than no drawing at all. That is also the fallback for any controller whose display the library cannot vouch for — pick a screen shape yourself in the gear detail modal if yours has one.
Controllers stay audited by default, as the five that were filed under Drones already were.
Auditing more than the item itself (v0.735.0)
An asset is rarely one surface. Under Condition, an item can tick on extra parts to audit alongside it, and which parts are offered depends on the kind of gear it is — a camera body offers its on-camera monitor and its viewfinder, other families offer what they are actually handed over with.
There are two kinds of part, and the difference is what you get:
- A face of the item. A body's flip-out monitor is not separate gear — it is another surface of the same body. It gets its own panel on the sheet and is covered by the item's own checks.
- Its own kind of gear. A lens or an ND is not a face of anything; it fails its own way. It gets its own panel and its own checks, so the ND is asked about coating and edge chips rather than about whatever is carrying it.
Ticked parts are laid out in a fixed order, so switching one on later never moves marks you already recorded on the others. A part that did not come back can still be marked not present.
Parts are the quick path; Components are the precise one. A part gives you one of a kind, drawn at that family's default shape. If you need three different NDs, or a specific screen size, add them in the Components list instead — each component carries its own name, family and shape.
Drones keep their aircraft (v0.735.3)
A drone's five regions — props, arms, shell, camera, legs — are one plan view, not five separate panels: the whole reason the drawing exists is that "front-left rotor" is a place you can point at.
So the aircraft gets one panel on the sheet, with any parts or components you audit beside it. Tick a drone's pilot controller, gimbal lens or ND filter under Condition and the airframe stays exactly the drawing it is, just scaled to fit its panel; a mark still records the region it landed on, so nothing about what your marks mean changes.
On a phone the audit opens on that panel full width, so the aircraft is as big as the screen allows.
Before v0.735.3 this went the other way: auditing anything beside a drone replaced the aeroplane with five empty boxes headed PROPS / ARMS / BODY / GIMBAL / LANDING_GEAR, and drones were not offered parts at all. Both are fixed — no sheet you already recorded is affected.
Camera bodies: the monitor and the viewfinder (v0.695.0)
A camera body is not only its imager. The flip-out monitor and the finder are the two parts that most often come back cracked, so each can be audited as its own panel beside the sensor.
- Switch them on per body. In the gear detail modal, under Condition, tick On-camera monitor and/or Viewfinder / EVF. They are optional because not every body has both — plenty ship with no built-in finder at all.
- Each part gets its own panel on the sheet, drawn side by side with the sensor and in a fixed order, so switching the finder on later never moves marks you already recorded on the sensor.
- An external EVF has its own shape — the panel and the eyepiece (eyecup, diopter ring, loupe
glass). Pick
Viewfinder / EVF — panel and eyepiecein the shape list. - On a phone the audit opens on one panel at a time, full width, with an All / Sensor / Monitor / Viewfinder switch above the drawing. Focusing a panel only changes what you are looking at — a mark keeps the same position whichever view you place it in.
Marking a part "not present"
Above the drawing, each panel has a switch. Tap one to record that the item does not have that part, or that it did not come back:
- The panel is struck through, labelled NOT PRESENT, and stops accepting marks — so it can never be signed off as inspected-and-clean.
- Any marks already on that panel from this audit are removed. Marks from an earlier signed audit stay in the record; the panel is simply drawn struck through over them.
- The setting carries forward from the last approved audit, so a body with no finder does not have to be re-declared every time. It is always one tap to change.
- A part that was present at pickup and absent at return is a finding: the drafted damage report is filed as lost at major severity, and names the missing part. If the audit also found damage, it stays a damage report and lists the missing part in the body.
Print-Ready Blank Scratch Sheets

One item. From the Owned Gear page, edit any item that supports condition tracking and click Print Blank Sheet under Condition.

A whole project, in bulk. A project's Rental tab carries two buttons in the header, under the Rental Management title and beside Print Gear Labels:
- Lens Scratch Sheets — every lens in the owned gear assigned to this project.
- Filter & Monitor Scratch Sheets — monitors plus filters, which ride along because both are inspected as a single flat optical surface.
Each button prints its own multi-page PDF and shows the item count it will print —
Lens Scratch Sheets (12). A button with a count of zero is disabled, and if the project has neither lenses nor monitors/filters both buttons are hidden. They are also hidden when you are viewing the project read-only. -
A sub-rental. You do not generate blank sheets separately here. The delivery and return note wizards append a condition scratch sheet for every eligible item on the manifest, each pre-filled from the last approved sheet so previously recorded marks show through as the existing condition and only new marks are added on top.
